GTA 6 Editions: Standard vs Ultimate
There are two GTA 6 editions: Standard and Ultimate. In the US Xbox store, Standard costs $79.99 and Ultimate costs $99.99. Ultimate includes the base game plus a $20 upgrade pack with extra vehicles, weapons, customization and activities. If you prefer to decide later, start with Standard and buy the upgrade separately.
GTA 6 editions compared
| Comparison | Standard | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | Included | Included |
| US price | $79.99 | $99.99 |
| Ultimate Upgrade | Available separately | Included |
| US Xbox upgrade pack | $20.00 | Included with the edition |
| Delivery format | Digital and boxed download code | Digital |
| Disc in the box | No disc — the boxed copy is a download code | Digital download |
| Upgrade later | Upgrade after redeeming the base-game code | Already the upgraded edition |
| How extras unlock | Progress through base-game content | Upgrade content opens with story chapters |
| Preload | November 12 at local midnight; requires a digital purchase or redeemed code | Same timing |
Across both GTA 6 editions, the edition and the delivery format are separate choices. Standard is available digitally and as a boxed download code. Ultimate is digital. A boxed Standard copy becomes a digital copy when you redeem its code, and you can then purchase the Ultimate upgrade through your platform store.

Is GTA 6 Ultimate Edition worth it?
| Player goal | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mainly want the base story | Standard | It already includes the game |
| Especially want the extra vehicles, outfits and exclusive shops | Ultimate | The table above is exactly the extra content |
| Prefer to play first and decide later | Standard + later upgrade | Rockstar sells a separate upgrade |
| Want to collect physical merchandise | Compare the Collector’s Box separately | The game and the collection are bought separately |
Choose Standard if the base game is what you want. GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is worth it if its specific vehicles, customization options and extra activities appeal to you. Buying Standard first keeps the upgrade decision open: Rockstar provides a separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
GTA 6 pre-order bonus vs Ultimate extras
The Vintage Vice City Pack is a purchase-window bonus rather than an Ultimate-only benefit. Rockstar lists the pack for qualifying purchases before November 20, 2026. Digital buyers also receive the GTA+ offer, subject to the platform’s redemption conditions.

Is there a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition?
What players call the GTA 6 Collector’s Edition is the Collector’s Box Rockstar sells as Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, priced at $399.99 on the Rockstar Store. It is a standalone merchandise item, sold without either GTA 6 edition.
The box includes themed accessories, collectibles and a two-sided poster with a Leonida map. Pair it with one of the GTA 6 editions if you want both the game and the collection.

What does GTA+ provide today?
Rockstar’s official support lists a monthly GTA$500,000 deposit as a current GTA Online benefit, paid into the in-game Maze Bank account. The figure is GTA$ — virtual currency, not real dollars.
The membership’s current cash benefit belongs to GTA Online: Rockstar lists a recurring GTA$500,000 deposit to the in-game account. That helps explain the preorder offer without treating it as a promise about a new GTA VI multiplayer mode.
Where to buy and which region to use
| Purchase channel | Official link | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation Store | Official concept page | PS5 regional pricing and unlock details |
| Xbox Store | GTA VI on the Xbox Store | Series X|S digital pre-order |
| Rockstar Store | Buy GTA VI | Official purchase and code-in-box options |
| Retail | Check retailers in your own region | Boxed shipping or pickup arrangements |
Match your GTA 6 edition to your account region. Rockstar’s platform support explains that PlayStation download codes are restricted by region group, and notes that Xbox codes do not carry the same regional lock. Check your account and the code’s terms before buying, rather than assuming every digital listing is region-free.
Locate the bonus destinations
Some upgrade items are tied to named destinations. The buggy uses Paradise Garage in Watson Bay; One-Eyed Willie’s is the Lake Leonida mod shop; and the Stockyard shops provide clothing and tattoo options. Those locations make the edition’s practical differences easier to picture than a list of item names alone.
| Content | Location / role from the official listing |
|---|---|
| ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy | Paradise Garage in Watson Bay |
| One-Eyed Willie’s | Mod shop in Lake Leonida |
| Stock 305 | Clothing store in the Stockyard |
| Electric Fang Tattoo | Tattoo parlor in the Stockyard |
| PTT Youngin$ Compound | Southside Vice City compound |
| Shitzu Squalo | Docked at Washington Beach; the listing also mentions fishing in Gambit Bay |
