GTA6 Countdown and PS5 Unlock Times
GTA 6’s console release date is November 19, 2026. The US PlayStation Store lists 05:00 UTC: midnight Eastern, or 9:00 PM Pacific on November 18. Choose your store region in the countdown below to follow its listed unlock time. Preload begins on November 12 at local midnight.
GTA 6 release date countdown timer
This GTA 6 countdown timer counts the days, hours and minutes until GTA 6 unlocks in your chosen PS5 region, with a separate reminder for preload. Changing the display time zone only converts the same unlock moment; choosing another region switches the countdown to that region’s listing.
GTA 6 PS5 unlock times by region
| PS Store region | Unlock (UTC) | Local midnight in |
|---|---|---|
| New Zealand | Nov 18, 11:00 UTC | NZDT |
| Australia | Nov 18, 13:00 UTC | AEDT (Sydney) |
| Japan | Nov 18, 15:00 UTC | JST |
| India | Nov 18, 18:30 UTC | IST |
| Germany | Nov 18, 23:00 UTC | CET |
| United Kingdom | Nov 19, 00:00 UTC | GMT |
| United States | Nov 19, 05:00 UTC | EST |
| Mexico | Nov 19, 06:00 UTC | CST (Mexico City) |
The countdown follows the store region, not the time zone on your device. The US listing has one timestamp: 05:00 UTC. That is midnight in New York and the previous evening in Los Angeles. Australia’s listing unlocks at midnight in Sydney; the same instant is 9:00 PM the previous day in Perth.
US countdown: one unlock time, four local displays
| US time zone | Local display |
|---|---|
| Eastern / New York | Nov 19, 00:00 EST |
| Central / Chicago | Nov 18, 23:00 CST |
| Mountain / Denver | Nov 18, 22:00 MST |
| Pacific / Los Angeles | Nov 18, 21:00 PST |
GTA6 countdown vs preload: two different clocks
The GTA 6 countdown and the preload date are separate. The countdown runs to the unlock time above — the moment the game becomes playable. Preload is when the download becomes available: Rockstar lists November 12 at local midnight, so the files can be on your console days before the countdown reaches zero.
| Input | What it means |
|---|---|
| Platform | PS5 or Xbox |
| Store region | PS5 defaults to the US store; switch between the eight verified listings |
| Unlock instant | The UTC timestamp published by the chosen store |
| Display zone | Only changes formatting — never the underlying instant |
| Preload date | November 12, 2026 |
| Preload rule | Rockstar lists “local midnight” |
| Release date | November 19, 2026 |
| Verified on | October 8, 2026 |
Plan the preload week
| Milestone | What happens and what to do |
|---|---|
| Now | Choose your platform and edition, check the account on your order and review your free space |
| November 12, local midnight | Digital buyers start preloading |
| From November 12 | Boxed copies ship or become available for pickup through retailers; redeem the code when it arrives |
| Store unlock | With the download finished, the game starts at your store’s listed time |
| Before November 20 | The Vintage Vice City Pack applies to qualifying purchases inside the listed window |
Use the preload week to redeem your code, make space and finish the download. A boxed copy still requires the code to arrive before you can redeem it. The files being present on your console and the game being unlocked are separate stages.
Add the right calendar reminder
| Reminder | Calendar event |
|---|---|
| Release date (any platform) | All-day event on November 19 |
| PS5 store unlock | Timed event at your chosen store’s UTC instant |
| Preload reminder | All-day event on November 12, noting “local midnight” |
For the US PS5 unlock, the timed calendar event uses DTSTART:20261119T050000Z with the store URL attached. All-day reminders stay optional — a UTC midnight placeholder is not a substitute for the store’s actual listed time.
How many days until GTA 6?
The countdown timer at the top of this page shows how many days until GTA 6 in real time, measured to your store’s exact unlock instant. For a calendar count, GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026, one week after the November 12 preload date. Because the timer counts to the unlock moment rather than to midnight on your device, its days and hours can differ from a plain calendar count.
Xbox purchase information
The regional times above are read from PlayStation Store listings. The Xbox store listing currently surfaces the release date, so the Xbox view keeps a date-based countdown and links your Xbox order for details. If a future Xbox listing publishes a UTC timestamp, we will register it with the same structure.
